I’ve become slightly obsessed by knitting pumpkins and cats for halloween (again!!) only this time it’s gone a bit too far and there’s loads of them! I’m currently selling them at the reception desk at Friends Centre in Brighton, an adult education charity where I teach dressmaking. They’re selling for £4 – it is for charity after all!
Want to learn how to make these cute pumpkins??
I’ll be teaching a beginner’s knitting workshop on Saturday 31st October.
This beginners’ course will guide you through the basics and show you how to create a little pumpkin to take home – just in time for Halloween!
There’ll be other projects to try too if you’d prefer to make something else.
Learn how to cast on, knit, purl and cast off. We’ll look at how to combine stitches to create stocking stitch, rib and moss stitch. If you’ve got these then I’ll show you some simple shaping techniques to increase and decrease your stitches.
At the end of the day you will have the skills and knowledge to follow a simple pattern and will have knitted a selection of samples using different stitches.
